The Deed is a home maintenance record app operated by Good Enough Brands LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and how you can get it deleted.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Everything you log about repairs and maintenance, including:
Contractor details are third-party information. If you enter a contractor's name, phone number, or email, you are storing another person's or business's contact information in your record — and it may appear on any report you share. Only enter what you are comfortable sharing with a buyer or agent.
If you use the receipt scanning feature, the photo you capture is sent to Anthropic's Claude API, which reads the receipt and returns structured details (contractor, date, amount, description) to fill in the entry for you. Anthropic processes the image to provide that result. The extracted text becomes part of your maintenance record; you can edit or delete it like any other entry.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
When you generate a share link for your property report, that link is public to anyone who has it. It is not password protected. Anyone you send it to can forward it, and anyone who receives it can view the report, which includes your property address and your full maintenance history — including contractor names and contact details and costs, if you entered them.
Share links expire automatically after 90 days. You can generate a new link at any time, and generating a new one is how you replace an old one.
Share links are also invalidated when ownership of a property is transferred through the app.
If you request ownership of a property that another user already has in The Deed, that user is shown your email address so they can decide whether to approve the request. If a transfer is approved, the property and its existing maintenance records move to the new owner, and the previous owner no longer has access to them.
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, on servers in the United States. Our website and report pages are hosted by Vercel. Receipt images sent for scanning are processed by Anthropic. Push notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and, in turn, Apple's notification service.
Access to your records is restricted at the database level so that you can read and write only your own data — with the single exception of a report you have deliberately shared via a share link.
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual maintenance records in the app at any time.
To delete your account and all associated data, email privacy@thedeed.homes from the address on the account. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm when it's done.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email privacy@thedeed.homes. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
The Deed is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
The Deed is currently in beta testing through Apple's TestFlight. If you are a beta tester, Apple also collects information about your use of the beta app, governed by Apple's TestFlight Terms and Apple's privacy policy. Beta software may contain errors; please do not rely on The Deed as your only record of important home maintenance information during the beta period.
Your session credentials are stored in your device's secure keychain. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access to records is enforced at the database level rather than only in the app. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat the integrity of your records as the core of the product.
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
